Finely carved by Cho Zi Yan who was known for his use of simple lines and keen perspective in his works. This brushpot typifies this simplistic technique. The plum blossoms are carved with clean lines using width and depth to present a more three dimensional view. The brushpot is also inscribed with a poem in which Cho Zi Yan recounts watching plum blossoms moving in the light autumn breeze.
